The music of The Rolling Stones, KISS, ZZ Top and, fittingly, The Who have been included in pinball machines.  So, why not AC/DC?

The band's official pinball game features the sneering face of Angus Young in the main playing area.  Other members' photos can be found throughout the game.

The game also has three "Thunderstruck" standup targets, a T.N.T. detonator, a rotating ball cannon and, to top it all off, Hell's Bells.

If you're looking to have one of these in your home, prepare to shell out at least $5700.  Details at the website below.

Delighted to tell you Michael Mergens is officially part of the staff of Blakeney Communications.  You'll eventually hear his fine work on Rock 104.

Michael continues to be active in the local music scene as a member of the band Radio Violence.

(Hmm, someone joining us after a stint at SL?  Gosh that's unheard-of.)

Find out what he and the band are up to at the links below.

OK, I admit.  I love to play the games on Facebook (no surprise, most of the games I play are based on classic game shows or video games).

Well, Jimmy Buffett's going to get into the game.  "Margaritaville Online" is based on his many songs; mini-games that are included explore the Buffett lifestyle.  As of this writing, the game is in beta testing mode -- and is accepting a limited number of players.

It's set to go live for everyone in the new year.  Game's free but it allows for optional microtransactions.

Our top story tonight: Osama Bin Laden is *still* dead.

But seriously, while we have every reason to celebrate, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, sing our national anthem and other patriotic songs, may we be reminded the mission is far from over.  The war against terror is still going on.  As a friend on Facebook posted, "(Bin Laden) may now be dead.  But all I will say is brace yourself."

So, just how do we brace ourselves?  For some answers, let's turn the clock back to 2001 -- when it all began.

Days after 9/11/01, Charles Jaco posted a commentary on his website -- nearly all of which can apply to the present day.  If his name rings a bell, you'll recall he was a correspondent with CNN.
(In case the name doesn't ring a bell, his last name is pronounced as if you were saying the letter "J" and syllable "co" with a hard "C".)

Perhaps his most notable assignment for the network came during the 1991 Gulf War.  A few years after the war, Jaco left CNN and returned to his native Missouri.  He has since worked in local radio and TV in St. Louis -- and his reporting can currently be seen on KTVI television.

But back to Jaco's commentary.  It began with an obituary to "the old America" -- and how a new one began less than a minute later.  It continues with a few helpful tips worth revisiting.

Jaco opined a nationwide "neighborhood watch" began on 9/11/01.  He also recommended we should "stop being afraid", to "get over" ourselves and "know the enemy".

The link to that commentary is below -- and is worth the look.  May God continue to bless America, land that we love, and keep it safe from harm.  Along the way, may we do our part to keep this great land of ours free of terror.

Need a laugh?  I mean a *REALLY* good laugh?

I've gotten several by reading My Optimism is Killing Me! by Deborah Hamlin.  It's a compilation of more than 40 stories from the author's life.

In one chapter, she humorously explains to her young children how they entered her world (read: she doesn't resort to "the stork brought you" -- but she doesn't talk about the birds and the bees with them either).  In another, her attempt at helping her fellow citizens goes awry.  And in another, she suggests we shouldn't put full faith and credit into a GPS -- lest it turn into an SOB.

I first got to know Deborah back in mid-February of 1996 -- in what proved to be my final weeks on "the old show" on another station in town.  She called in to request songs, primarily by The Eagles, and was kind enough to note "the old show", similar to RockTrax, was one of few reasons she tuned in to my previous station.

(No, her remarks didn't end up on air -- but I sure wish I recorded her take in order to give my then bosses a piece of my mind.  Which leads me to this revelation...)

By mid-March of '96, I shared a secret with Deborah -- noting that I was about to take my act to Rock 104.  She was thrilled for me and wished me lots of luck.  She, like many of you, followed me over to 104.5FM when RockTrax debuted in April of '96.

We lost touch about a year into RockTrax.  But, Deborah and I reconnected over the Christmas break of 2010.  She and her children have relocated to Kansas.  However, as of this writing, she's revisiting our neighborhoods to promote her hilarious book.

More about Deborah and her book can be found at the website below.   I'm callin' it.  If she plays her cards right and keeps writing the humorous stories, she could very well be this century's Erma Bombeck.
