Doug: Welcome back to The Big Risk. Our players have yet to lose any cyber-money to our dealer. Let's see if that continues as we spot each player an additional CY$750.

ANDY
CY$23,950

BRIAN
CY$13,250

CHICO
CY$7,750

(floor director tries to point Doug in direction of the uncompleted Five-Card Risk setup)

Doug: And I just realized something -- we can call our contestants Players A, B and C.

(light laughter from the crowd) (now camera operators try to point Doug in direction of the uncompleted Five-Card Risk setup)

Doug: Andy, Brian and Chico. In any event, we have -- what's the deal?

D.J.: (runs up right next to Doug) Um, darling, we have a little unfinished business.

Doug: Oh yeah, I forgot! (audience laughs) This sort of thing happens when you have gray hair.

Well, we shouldn't leave ya'll hanging much longer. Recall Chico froze after the first card turned up a winner and then Andy and Brian decided to freeze after three.

The fourth card was a winner. But,...

could

the

fifth

and

final

card

on

the

board

have

produced

a

blitz?

Let's

not

delay

any

more

and

reveal

that

last

space

on

the

board.

(loud groans from the crowd)

Doug: For the first time in the game, Dirty Harry has something to be happy about.

(cut to Dirty Harry -- who sort of sighs) (audience laughs)

Doug: OK, now that we have that out of the way, let's get to Round 3. Each question is worth a straight up CY$750. You'll each play four questions. Obviously, no matter what happens, Andy, Brian and Chico will be in first, second and third place, respectively, before the Final Risk -- but the more chips they have, the merrier.

True or False board offers categories this time. Let's see what they are.

ANIMAL KINGDOM
BY THE NUMBERS
REDHEADS
HEAD REDS

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: We have Animal Kingdom, By The Numbers, Redheads and Head Reds. (light laughter from the crowd) Last category is about past and present managers of the Cincinnati Reds pro baseball team. The others should be self-explanatory.

Chico, you're low man on the totem pole. Let's see if you can rack up CY$3000 in one fell swoop. Which category?

Chico: I always liked gingers. Redheads, please.

ANIMAL KINGDOM
BY THE NUMBERS

HEAD REDS

Doug: Yeah, let's see if you have better luck with redheads than me.

(members of the crew laugh)

True or false: Lucille Ball brought the original "Star Trek" series to television.

Chico: True.

Doug: That's right. Oddly enough, the next question involves at least one Ginger.

True or false: Angie Everhart competed as one of the "Ginger" characters in "The Real Gilligan's Island".

Chico: True.

Doug: We should note these queries are prepared in advance -- and this statement in particular is true.

True or false: Debra Messing played the female title roles in the TV shows "Will & Grace" and "Ned & Stacey".

Chico: True.

Doug: Three for three. Last one.

True or false: Judge Marilyn Milian once made way for the original judge on "The People's Court" to preside over a case.

Chico: True.

Doug: And what a great episode that was. Judge Joseph Wapner's return was associated with the celebration of his 90th birthday and his star being added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

As for you, Chico, the redheads were great to you for CY$3000.

ANDY
CY$23,950

BRIAN
CY$13,250

CHICO
CY$10,750

(audience cheers)

Doug: CY$10,750 to take into the Final Risk. Over to Brian. Three categories left. Which one?

Brian: I'm sometimes a numbers kind of guy, so I'll try By the Numbers, Doug.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

HEAD REDS

Doug: By The Numbers it is.

True or false: The Hundred Years War actually lasted more than 100 years.

Brian: False?

Doug: Lasted for 116 years -- so that was true.

True or false: In "Slumdog Millionaire", one of the movie's main characters participates in a quiz show for a top prize of one million Indian rupees.

Brian: False.

Doug: Top prize was 20 million rupees.

True or false: Contestants on "American Idol" cannot be older than 30 years old.

Brian: True.

Doug: Age limit is 28, as a certain general learned not too long ago. You're two for three. Last one.

True or false: As of today's typing, the U.S. population is less than 250,000,000.

Brian: False.

Doug: It's actually 308,000,000. You have CY$2250.

ANDY
CY$23,950

BRIAN
CY$15,500

CHICO
CY$10,750

(audience cheers)

Doug: Brings Brian up to CY$15,500. But we turn to the leader of the pack, Andy. You'll be leading before the Final Risk -- but which category do you think will help you make it a bigger lead?

Andy: Animal Kingdom.

Doug: We'll save the baseball managers for The Big Risk round. Meantime, four questions on animals.

True or false: A group of rhinos is a crash.

Andy: True.

Doug: That's right. Makes you wonder why we didn't see rhinos in the *movie* "Crash".

(light laughter from the crowd)

True or false: A snail's reproductive organs can be found in its head.

Andy: True?

Doug: You're unsure of that -- but be sure you're two-for-two here.

True or false: A platypus is a reptile.

Andy: False.

Doug: A mammal. Last one.

True or false: Turkeys see in color.

Andy: True.

Doug: Give Andy CY$3000.

ANDY
CY$26,950

BRIAN
CY$15,500

CHICO
CY$10,750

(audience cheers)

Doug: Man alive, our players have lots of cyber-money. That's bound to mean the wagers are going to be, as Donald Trump would say, "yooge".

Time for Final Risk. Last chance to place a bet before we send two of you to The Big Risk round. Deej, please tell our players how they can win cold cash in a game of -- Snowman.

(light laughter from the crowd) (Harry waves his fist at Doug)

D.J.: Cute, Doug. Indeed, here in the wintertime, we're going to play Snowman.

SNOWMAN

HIGHER THAN AN 8

1:1

8

12:1

LOWER THAN AN 8

1:1

D.J.: If you've played any game of cards, you've probably heard of an 8 referred to as a snowman. That's what snowmen are in this game -- 8's.

During the break, Harry shuffled a deck of 52 cards -- no Jokers this time. In a moment, we're going to see the first card from the top of the deck.

Before the reveal, you have to bet on that card and determine whether it is an 8, higher than an 8 or lower than an 8. Correct wagers on higher or lower pay off at one-to-one -- but a correct wager on the 8 pays at twelve-to-one.

Doug: All right, players A, B and C, the minimum bet in this round is CY$750. You may voluntarily take the big risk and bet everything. Wagers still have to be in increments of CY$50. Remember, the player in last place is eliminated. Good luck, decide carefully -- and place your bets.

(think music plays)

ANDY

HIGHER
CY$5,000
BRIAN
CY$10,750

HIGHER
CY$4,750
CHICO
CY$00

LOWER
CY$10,750

Doug: All right, the bets are in. Andy's betting 5000 on higher, Brian's betting 4750 on higher and Chico's all in on lower.

Chico: Doug -- I've always wanted to say this. "Let's take the big risk!"

(audience cheers)

Doug: Well, with you betting the farm, you have to hope the first card from the top of the deck is lower. If it is, you'll join Andy at The Big Risk round. If it's an 8 or high, Brian and Andy duke it out for the championship.

We

know

for

sure

Andy

is
